INFORMATION FOR NEW CLIENTS
New clients to our centre tend to need some common questions answered before they arrive...Firstly, please know that the staff and practitioners at The Mood & Mind Centre are here for you. It can be a daunting thing to go somewhere and tell your story to a complete stranger and we get that.
- Maybe you've had bad experiences with other services.
- Maybe you're just a private person who doesn't open up easily.
- Maybe you really need to spill your guts while someone just listens without being judgey!
That's OK too.
Whatever you need, let us know. If you have questions, ask them. If you have special needs don't be afraid to let us know about those too. We're good but we can't read minds!
Your time here starts with us learning from you.
That's the only way for a good practitioner to be helpful to you. They listen first, talk later :)

WHAT YOU NEED TO GET STARTED?
Call us on (07) 5573 2200 to make an appointment with the practitioner of your choice or just chat with one of our friendly receptionists for advice on which therapist would suit you best.
Sometimes that'll be about what days you're available to attend appointments.
It may also be about matching experiences and personalities.
You don't need a doctor's referral to come and see us BUT without one, you will pay all the session costs yourself without a rebate from Medicare.
To make sure you get every rebate penny to which you are entitled, you will need to visit your doctor and ask for a
'Mental Health Care Plan' (which is the mental health version of a referral).
We can then access Medicare rebates for you under the 'Better Access' program.
A Medicare patient fact sheet is available by clicking here.
At your first session make sure you bring along your Medicare card and your Mental Health Care Plan.
We will send you a Welcome Email which contains our Registration and Consent Forms.
Please complete these forms prior to attending your appointment and make sure you come to all appointments about ten minutes early.
